My name is Sheryl Means, a crochet artist and lover of textiles in general. Through the years my crochet art has utilized many materials, but has been consistently comprised of organic shapes, freeform design, and lots of texture.
In recent years I have moved away from using yarn and have begun experimenting with lace crochet techniques, crochet thread and working small. I have always been a fan of all things small - small cars, small houses, small art just seems like a perfect fit. As a former nurse, I also am fascinated by microscopic photography. I am inspired by the organic shapes and amazing colors found in nature beyond what is visible with the naked eye.
For the same reasons, I enjoy Zentangle style drawing and find it to be quite inspirational in my crochet work. It is my hope that as I showcase my work and document my process that you will find inspiration for your crochet journey.
